The very first time I went to Thailand was in 1973. I was a soldier in the United States Of America Army and Bangkok was my first work station. I was there for 18 months and my first meal back America was a Huge Mac, chips and a Coke. Times have changed and the Thailand countryside is dotted by fast food places. From KFC to McDonalds to Pizza Hut is everywhere. They're not merely in the major cities and tourist area, but occur in smaller cities like Khon Kaen and Phitsanulok. Granted, I'm a junk food junkie back in the states, but usually in Thailand, I often eat the neighborhood food. Really it's Thai junk food.
